divorce is not an option unless as others said there is cheating or abuse involved. i believe that if you truly love on another you can get through anything. i think too many see divorce as an easy way out as opposed to working through their problems, hence the 52% divorce rate. divorce does not exist in my family. no one in my family is divorced or in FHs family. there have without a doubt been problems with couples in my family but they have worked through them. but this is JMHO!
I agree completely!

Re: divorce?
Divorce can be good. My parents spilt when i was in my teens and it was the best thing that could happen to all of us!! They fought so much when they were together. my father has been with his 2nd wife for over 15years. they all can be in the same room and have a great time. thank god.

Re: divorce?
Ok- I have been fighting with myself whether or not to ans this post. As most of you know I have been married before and I always had thought that divorce wasnt an option for me either. I had totally believed in my vows and the better or worse part. My ex was an alcoholic and verbally and physically abusive. I tried to stay as long as I could but It got to the point where he was threatening my life. Now I look back and the signs were there before we were married and I chose to ignore them. To me now divorce was something that had to be done. I still believe in the vows that I am making but I also have made a better decision in FH this time and I know divorce wont be an option for us.

I agree with you. I don't think anyone walking down the aisle thinks divorce is an option for them, but you never really know until you're put in that situation. That's why I didn't say it wasn't an option for me. I will 100% put my all into our relationship and exhaust any and all other options for us, but if push comes to shove, I'd rather be separated and happy than married and miserable. I would like to think that this will be something FH and I NEVER have to worry about, but who knows what can happen 30 years from now. My parents certainly weren't planning to only be married for 30 years when they got married, but it happened.

Re: divorce?
I don't know how i feel about divorce. FH's parents divorced when he was like 8 so it's someting that he's always had in his life. I don't think there is 1 person in my family who had a previous marriage.
I think that i would only consider it if it was an abuse issue. I also think i would consider it if we were fighting (like really really fighting) and everything had been done already to save the marriage.
I feel like sometimes divorce is the easy way out for some people.
