Divorced Parents Walking In Reception Together?

Divorced Parents Walking In Reception Together?

Ok so logically I am thinking that at the reception I will have my dad and step mom walk in together and then my mom will walk in with my brother or uncle. my dad has been remarried for almost 6 years now so i think out of respect to my step mom I should make her part of the walkin process?

my mom has this idea that since they are my parents they should walk in together. i think she needs to be a little more open minded (and maybe less bitter) and realize that if they walk in together it will be even more weird, considering that they havent been best buddies for the last few years.

anyone with advise? fyi i am planning to have only my dad walk me down the isle.

My dad walked in with his wife and my mother walked in with my grandmother.. I could see if your dad wasn't remarried and they both agreed to walk intogether, but i think your dad should definitely walk in with your step mom.

We did however take pictures with both sets.. For example.. i took a pic w/ my mom and dad..and also took a pic with my dad & step mom (my mom is not remarried)
My husband did the same.. he took a few pics with his mother and father..and then took pics with his mom and stepdad & then with dad & stepmom...

Neither one of my parents are re-married, so I have no idea what we're going to do in this situation. I don't particularly want their significant others walking in as part of the introductions, and I don't really have anyone else to walk them in. I may tell them both to suck it up and walk in together.

My parents are each remarried.

I want my dad to walk me down the aisle. So, one of the following will happen:

(1) My dad will walk twice, once with my step-mom and once with me
(2) My brother will walk with my step-mom
(3) My step-mom will simply sit first with the rest of the important non-aisle-walkers in the front row (but will be introduced at the reception with my father, of course)

There really aren't any other options as far as that goes for me.

I would *never* in a million years have my mom and dad walk in together. If my mom weren't remarried, my brother would've walked her, or she would've proudly walked alone.

My FH's parents are both divorced and remarried, so we are having them both walk in with FH's step parents (his father and step mom, and his mother and step dad together). Since it is your parents and not the groom, I would do what you suggested, have your dad and step mom walk in and your mom walk in with an escort (her son, brother, etc.) Then, your dad could walk in with you again.

since my dad walked me down the aisle, his wife (my step mom) did not walk down the aisle.. she was just already seated in the front with an empty seat for my dad...

They did however walk into the reception together.

my parents are divorced and hate eachother... my mom wants to walk me in with my father at church, however my father does not want that to happen. I just want to walk in with my dad because we are very very close (BFF) soooo i dont know what i am going to do.. its going to be a war.

Ah, the joys of blended families!

I think I might have my mom walk in with my brother, and have my dad walk in with his wife.

I am having both my parents walk me down aisle and we are just not having people introduced at reception so I don't know if I am much help but

I agree it might be off to have mom and dad together. . so either do them with steps or even just on their own? like do everyone individually so it doesnt seem weird?

DH's parents are separated. His dad is remarried, but the day of our wedding, his mom walked with his dad, after all they are his parents and adults. It's just 5 minutes of their time. They are representing him, I would want the same for me if my parents were divorced.

I gave the same advice to someone on dance.net but it was for a dad and a family friend who was like a 2nd father (he didn't have kids and treated her like his own)

Scenario 1:
Your mother sits in a pew halfway down the isle.
Doors open and its you and dad
halfway down mom joins the two of you

Scenario2:
Doors open and mom and dad are at your sides
halfway down the isle mom kisses you and watches you and dad continue while she make her way around the side (complicated)

Scenario3:
exact opposite of #1

Scenario 4:
Doors open and its just you
mom and dad meet you halfway and continue

Scenario 5:
Doors open its just you
get down the isle and be greeted by your father who gives you away

Scenario 6:
Do something completely different
YOU stand at the alter and have FH walk down the isle so now you don't have to worry about upsetting anyone.
