DIY Aisle Runner

Ok you crafy DIY brides.. I need some help! I am purching my Aisle Runner within the next few days, and want to add my own monogram to it. Now, I've read over and over again how to do it, but one part is still confusing me, no matter what post I look at.

How exactly do you transfer the design from the paper onto the runner????

Some girls said you just trace right over it, but does that make enough of a mark to really color it all in? Do I need to use a pencial and trace the opposite side of the paper and then re-trace it so it leaves a light pencial mark?? Sorry...Im just getting retarted!! LOL

TIA!!!

Oops!
Sometimes I am retarded!

I have instructions that say it's easier to use a paper aisle runner... but I wasn't sure if that would be thick enough... it said it would be .. but paper sounds iffy to me.

Anyway... print it out and blow that up.. Place the picture under the aisle runner then just trace it like normal with a pencil then paint over it. That's what I was told anyway. I don't know if anyone else has a better way. I won't be making mine until October of next year... so I can't say from experience.

if you can only find the 100' ones i would cut off 1/2 and a just in case peice LOL

i personally haven't made a runner and i don't think i will but if i did i would blow the pic up and basically trace through the runner and paint it on

I made my monogram on microsoft publisher I think printed it- taped all the papers tog and then traced it onto the runner. I then painted it. Make sure you put wax paper under it before you paint it hough so it does not come onto yuor table. It takes a very long time. But is definitely well worth it in the end...

Re: DIY Aisle Runner UPDATE with PICS

Ok...so I got MOST of everything I wanted to this weekend... I have a bit more left of the cake topper...I lost too much patience. LOL.The WE DO letters are officatlly DONE!! And, the aisle runner needs some work....I only gave it ONE coat so far... And, I need to pick up black paint for the B and light pink for the date. Soo...I'll update as I go...

What do you ladies think??

I first did it by tracing as everyone said to do it as... but I didn't like the way it came out when I painted it. Seee...

Soo... I cut it off and started over.. LOL... Just painted right on top of the enlargement.... So here it is...about 65% done..LOL

And for the WE DO letters... Finally DONE!

You can't tell in the pics, but the crystals slowly spread out and vanish.. LOL

And, I got some done on my cake topper...STILL not done.LOL

And, this is the enlargement after some of the paint stuck to it...I think it looks pretty nifty. Maybe I can find a spot to use it on our wedding....but it's soo big! LOL

And, that's all folks! LOL
