Yes I agree..hot glue was the only thing that worked for me

my mom sewed the fabric into little like box covers. We used hot glue to glue it to the inside of the box because we wanted to cover the box and lid separately.

I bought thick silk fabric from a fabric store in the fashion district (real cheap) and then I hot glue gunned it to the boxes
