DIY confusion

DIY confusion

So I went to Michael's and spent $70 on stuff to make my own programs and menus. I am totally confused. I want to DIY something so I can say, 'hey I made that!' but I don't know where to begin!

I so understand! I went and bought all the stuff to make my unity candle so I can say I DIY something and I have no idea where to start either. I have had all this stuff since last summer!!!

I bought my DIY invites in 2008 and only started to do them last week. So I completely understand.

You just have to sit down and try different things. Take an idea, do drafts of it and see if you can come up with revisions to it. My original DIY invite was totally different than what I ended up with.

Another suggestion is to see what others have done. You can probably pick up so many ideas from what other people DIY'd themselves or purchased.

find a pic of ones you like. it might not even be just one. maybe a bit of this and bit of THAT.

i just hold things up and arrange it until it looks how i want and then piece by piece assemble.

ask questions on here if you aren't sure of how to do something. someone is bound to know or have an opinion.

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Start out by coming up with the wording and layout for the program/menu. Print it out on regular paper to see how it looks. If you have a general idea of what you want them to look like make one mock up and then go from there.

Thanks for the encouragement! I think I need a break. I gave myself a headache, but I got the creative juices flowing.
