DIY Flowers

DIY Flowers

Ok, I'm getting married on 02/14/2009 and on a tight/small budget. The two things I did not want to skimp on were the Flowers and photography. I've booked the photographer, http://www.carmenrubio.com/noflash.html who was recommended by several friends and we have seen her work, so I definitely had to have her! (I cannot wait for our engagement shoot, Nov 9th)
Since we are getting married on Valentines Day the prices for the flowers are ridiculous. So I have decided to go to the flower district in the city and purchase them wholesale, since I plan to have red roses.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me since I am very nervous?

I have been practicing the centerpieces, but have yet to be satisfied

And has anyone ordered flowers wholesale off the internet before?

I did, from a 'farm' too.....I posted pictures everday to show what they looked like....most never opened & just drooped...& I followed the directions(you have to soak them in a tub to re-hydrate them & cut the stems...etc...) THANK GOD I did a trial run....& I sent them the pictures & complained.....you know what they said? Or did? NOTHING!

I decided to go with silk......I would recommend buying in bulk from Costco if you're a member. Their fresh flowers are always great! Good Luck!
