I decided not to, but thought about it for a while. Its very do-able depending on what you want, and if you have friends/family who can help. fiftyflowers.com is the website I was going to use for wholesale flowers, they deliver them fresh, a few days before the event and have great prices/reviews. I suggest that you do the math on all the flowers and supplies to make what you want and if the price is waaaaaaay below what a Florist can do, then go for it! lol Good Luck! Also I thought about doing non floral centerpieces (pin wheels, lanterns, other fun stuff) and just getting a florist to make bouquets. That's a good alternative idea.

we went with a florist because designating someone to set it up the day of was either a pain or costly (doc)

try hidden essence!

My sister did! Honestly, making bouquets (Esp bridesmaid ones) is NOT that hard. I've watched tutorials. You just need the flowers, floral tape, ribbon, and some pins to hold the ribbon in place. Google 'DIY bouquet' or 'How to make a bouquet' on youtube. You can order wholesale flowers online (fifty flowers, costco online, trader joes always has flowers). For centerpieces you just need to create a grid on whatever vase/glass holder you're using with floral tape so the flowers dont flop over. I've researched this a bit! The only thing is that a) do you want to be assembling all this a few days before your wedding? You need to order the flowers about 3 days before and keep them in water

In the summer, you'd also need to keep them cool. This is why I chose to do silk flowers. I used a girl on eBay to do my altar arragements, bouquets and corsages. FM me if you'd like details..

I really understand the desire and the need to save money where we can when planning a wedding, but this is a big job. You are going to have so much to do the last few days, so much more than you realize right now. I know that I would never have had the time since this is something that cannot be done weeks in advance. Remember that the CP's are large and will need space and a cool place, as will as the bok's and all the rest of the flowers.

There are budget friendly florists out there and one of them is Hidden Essence, give Michelle a call, you might be happy you did with a lot less stress on your big day.

Have you thought about doing something other then a floral centerpiece? Candelabra, candles or the cylinder vases w/ floating flower?
Unless you have a DOC to help w/ making the floral centerpieces and setting up, I wouldnt attempt it unless you are doing silk flowers.
