I'm not the most computer savvy person. How difficult is this to do? Is it worth the savings? Any good sites for stationary or kits?
Help me!

Re: DIY Invitations?
Don't worry, it's actually easier than it sounds. I DIYed my STDs from scratch (Check 'em out in my photos section) but I got my invite kit from Michael's. The kit comes with everything you need and there's a template on their website to use when you're actually printing the invites. Let me see if I can get a picture to attach.
And they have tons of different designs! In fact, these invites were my first official wedding purchase!
Def doable! We are doing all the stationary for the wedding

Re: DIY Invitations?
I am the most creatively challeneged person in.the.world but I am going to DIY invites!! I am just going to give myself plenty of time to get this done. I am afraid of doing all of the printing, but I am confident I can do the assembly (I am making pocketfolds with ribbon and crystal buckles)

I think they are on the Michael's website, but I found them in the actual Michael's store in the bridal section and they had programs, menus, and seating cards to match!

Re: DIY Invitations?
I think they were about $40 for 30 invites, but I used a 40% off coupon.

Re: DIY Invitations?
I'm dying mine too (pics in album)! My only advice is to get some extra paper to do some tests on while you're trying to figure out spacing, etc. and GIVE YOURSELF PLENTY OF TIME!

Re: DIY Invitations?
You can certainly do them on your own. Just need a little creative, time and patience. A lot of your supplies you can find at Michael's and AC moore or any other store like that.
CardsandPockets.com is a great source for paper and anything you would need to make pocket invites (if that's what you're interested in).
ActionEvenelope.com is a good source for paper as well. I had order a couple of samples and I was happy with the paper quality and weight.
Good luck!

I agree with Britt- give yourself plenty of time and leave room for error. That's the one bad part about DIY, it's a learning process. I learned a *lot* from my STDs!

Re: DIY Invitations?
I DIY'd my invites using coordinating paper products from papersource.com
Check out my album
If you need help, I'd be more than willing to walk you through it!
Good Luck!
1. chose pocketfolds and decorative paper and satin ribbon to adorn the edge
2. Printed 5x7 invite using MS WORD!
3. Hand stamped and embossed the corners with a flourish (easy to do - just need stamp, ink pad, embossing powder and heat gun)
4. Mounted invite on background card stock using ZOTS adhesive
5. Printed reception, response cards and envelopes using MS WORD. 4 per page for the cards.
6. Cut with paper cutter and then stuffed pocketfolds!
So Easy!
It's fun if you like DIY - if you HATE it but want to save money, ask a crafty friend or just buy invites because you WILL be frustrated!
Good Luck!

I also did mine from Michaels. The kits are amazing and so are the prices . Make sure you get the 40% off coupons out of the sunday papers to take with you!! They have instructions inside, very easy.
