DIY Invite Question!!

DIY Invite Question!!

I am in the process of making my own invites and am going to use a spray adhesive to glue the layers of the invite together. However, the spray adhesive says to work in a ventilated area because it has strong vapors. If it was the springtime that would be fine because I would just keep all the windows open. This sounds like a stupid question but do you have any suggestions of how to keep a room somewhat ventilated in the winter???

TIA!

I think you just have to shut yourself in a room and open the window- sorry

I would not use it in the house. Do you have a garage??

I used a spray finish on our envelopes to waterproof them, and just opened the window and turned the fan on (since it was January). It was pretty toxic smelling, I'd probably avoid doing that again!

Yep, usually the cans are locked up at the craft store, but Krylon makes preserving sprays for craft projects. There are a lot of different ones, but just check them out, some have glossy or matte finishes.

Printer ink generally smudges VERY easily with moisture. Even 'HER' ink. We knew and sprayed the envelopes she did for my sister's wedding last year...but in hindsight we should have sprayed the menus she made as well b/c they got to be drippy messes from the condensation from people's water glasses when the reception started.

This tends to happen just with inkjet printing right? With laserjet it shouldn't smudge, right?

So you just spray this stuff on - now I'm thinking of doing this just to be on the safe side? Can you get this at Michael's?

Yes. It's a little $$, bring a coupon.

Possibly cheaper on the web if you have time to order it from somewhere.

Omg it lasts forever (11oz can) my sister and I did like total 300 envelopes on the one can, and my bff borrowed it to spray the recipe cards from her shower...it still feels pretty heavy.
