Re: DIY Invites
I made a mock about 5-6 months before the wedding. I sent mine out almost 3 months before the wedding. So I made a mok and made sure it was exactly what I wanted and to see how long it took to make one. Then 3 weeks before I printed and cut everything, then right before I wanted to mail them, I assembled them. This way it didn't seem like such a big job since I spread it all out.
everyone does it differently, this is just how I did it!

You forgot to mention you did an AMAZING job as well - they came out beautiful!
I've been working on different mock designs for the last few months, ordered my pocketfolds and cardstock last Thurs, picked them up yesterday and will start printing soon. I'll then print and cut everything and bring it all to one of my BMs who's going to help me assemble and stuff. I'll print the envelopes out last as the guest list isn't quite finalized yet.

Not too soon at all. Especially if you're doing something that involves a lot of cutting and assembly (i.e. pocketfolds vs just print and stuff varieties).
I want 'em done and ready to go, even if they're sitting in boxes for three months.
