DIY Invites- I need help

Hi Gals,

So FH and I decided we wanted to do the invites ourselves- but now i'm not so sure. I've seen some plain and simle ones at Michaels and AC Moore. they come in a box set and they give you a website to go to and walk you through all the steps.
My problem is that I don't like any of these invites. They are all plain and boring. I am having a Cinderella theme wedding so I wanted to incorporate that on the invites too. I'm not finding any type of DIY invites with pics on them- except for a set that had 2 linking hearts on the top.
Are there other invites out there or do I need to let a professional handle this?

Have you ever tried heat embossing and stamping? You can get a plain invite and really dress it up and make it look professional that way. It's super easy to do and really looks great! It also could save you lots and lots of money.

You can buy card stock and a paper cutter and make them yourself! It's time consuming but it's definitely do-able. You probably want some kind of white and blue, right?

I'm not a designer but here's an example of what you can do in word with some white and blue paper and a blue ribbon (the blue line across the center).

Thanks very cool idea. FH is an artist/cartoonist. We were playing around with the idea of him desiging the invite and then taking it to a printer.
....It's a thought

Here are the ones I bought from Michaels. They are made by Brides magazine and were super easy to make
