I'm prining our DIY invitations this weekend... I have to finish the ceremony/reception hall insert card..
Suggestions needed: The ceremony will START at 6:30pm... we are offereing wine and cheese starting at 6pm for anyone who shows up early.... I kinda want to mention the wine/cheese so people get there in time for the ceremony.... OR do i just say ceremony starts promptly at 6:30 and don't mention the wne/cheese?

We're also having 'hospitality' for a half hour before our ceremony. We're putting the start time as 4pm, even though the ceremony won't begin until 4:30. This will allow for people being late, and us still starting on time. People that get there at 4 will have a full half hour of drinks and snacks.

That's exactly what I'm doing too. :)

This is what I'm doing too. My hospitality is at 6 and the ceremony is at 6:30 but our invitations say 6pm. I figure it's good because if people show up a little late they should still be there before the ceremony starts!! I rather everyone be there early than late. The ceremony is the most important part! It's what everyone is celebrating!!!!

Yea but what if people think the hospitality is longer then a half and and still show up late? I think you at least need a ceremony start time or people will assume hospitalty longer then it is....?

i'm thinking something like please be seated for the ceremony promptly at 630pm OR ceremony will start promptly at 630pm but first please join us for wine and cheese at 6pm...

I am putting 11 for a 11:30 start time. FH and I were at a wedding this weekend - the invite said ceremony will start promptly at 11:30 - didn't start till almost noon....

I'm not specifically stating on the invite that there is a 'hospitality' portion. Simply that the event is at 4pm. Then it's a nice little surprise when people come in and get to relax a little. And those that are late will be relieved when they get there and it hasn't started yet lmao!

We had a hospitality hour as well, but I just mentioned it on the website. There was no place on our invites to put it and I didn't feel like making an insert just for that.
