DIY Makeup?

Any one considering doing their own makeup? I grew up in theatre and doing makeup, so I have been doing makeup for myself for 23 years, and was an assistant makeup artist at one of the theatres I worked for.

I am trying to decide if its worth it to spend 100-200 on makeup for the day of the wedding, or if I should just do my own.

What do you ladies think? Anyone else thinking of doing their own makeup? (Hair, so getting someone there, I try to do my own hair I look like a poodle... seriously)

I am doing my own makeup. I love any and everything makeup related - I will be having my hair done though because I hate having hair.

i get really umm annoyed getting ready for other peoples weddings that I am not in so I dont think it would be a good idea to let myself do anything on my own plus its my day and I dont want to realyl have to deal with anything.

If I could do my own makeup I totally would. I'm having a friend of my mom's doing mine... cause I'm not so much dealing with makeup and hair on my wedding day.

I say do some trials see how you like them if you have the patience on your own wedding day go for it.

See, thats what I am afraid of. when I let people do my makeup I usually wind up looking like a Racoon, there is soo much under eye eyeliner, FH usually looks at me and asks me to go fix it.

Haha, same here, I've been going to the same stylist for 10 years. She knows my hair like I know my face... I sometimes think Id fair better in life if no one had hair or eyebrows. I CAN'T STAND plucking my eyebrows or doing my hair...

I hate doing my hair too thats why most of the time my hair is up and out of my face. Blow drying my hair is like a chore.

you have to be careful doing your own makeup - unless you have perfect skin you will probably not photograph well. the makeup artist will know how to do makeup so you look good for photos. I know i wouldn't be able to do my own makeup

there are so many places around here that do make-up for free...they do make up trials and everything for free...you can give a tip to the girls if you want..
