For your DIY menus, did you ladies use cardstock or regular text paper? The cardstock i want to order says that it isn't meant to be printed on by at-home printers...

Re: DIY Menus
I used card stock and actually had everything printed at Staples. They let you bring your own paper and it was not alot of money to have them print everything and it saved me a headache of fighting with my printer. They will also cut the paper down after too

Re: DIY Menus
Depends on the weight of the card stock. I used two different types and the thicker one had to be brought to staples for printing.

Where are you planning on ordering your cardstock from?

No, don't have the menu set yet, but we know what we want! I just started making a sample on my computer, but i'm sure it'll change a little.
Order paper from paperandmore.com... but the cardstock says you're not supposed to print on it...

Re: DIY Menus
i think we're gonna go with the chicken we had at the tasting, though FH realy wants the duck...
I printed the menus out on the cardstock and it looks really good!
Girls that brought to Staples - how much did they charge you to cut it? Just wondering if we should go to cedarhurst paper to buy what we need or buy it online... paperandmore.com is like $30 for the paper and then $5 to cut it... TIA!

Re: DIY Menus
i bought a thicker cardstock as the back and a pearlescent cardstock to print on from paperandmore.com I had the thicker 11x 4 cut and the 8x11 we print 3 on each (on our own printer) and cut them ourselves with a slide cutter and glue dotted together

Re: DIY Menus
I used card stock as the back paper and then printed directly on the vellum paper. Came out great.
Can't wait to see yours!

Re: DIY Menus
I got pretty much all of my card stock for invites, favor tags, all the inserts for the invites, and the menus and I want to say it was about $50-$60 and it was all in color so it was less or about the same give or take as buying the ink for my computer and i didn't have to do anything. I know they charge about $2 per cut on each stack of paper some stuff I chose to cut myself b/c I am OCD like that lol I love the print center at the farmingdale staples fh is a graphic designer and has had a lot of stuff printed through them and they really seem to know what they are doing and they always do a test print for you to see.

Re: DIY Menus
Question: if you bought paper and carstock from paperandmore, what size did you have the bottom layer cut to?
I want to mount the words on a card stock - but I don't know how to figure out the cutting.

i'm not sure if i'm going to do layered menus, but now i think i might. I dunno. I have a feeling i might just have Tssssa do them now. I really don't think this is going to save me any money and will just be an added stress.
BUT i was going to get the paper cut to 4 1/4 x 9. HTH!
