DIY Pocketfolds help

So my little practice kit came in from Cards & Pockets and I just have a few questions for those who printed them out at home and used Word. Do you just put the dimensions of the paper in Word? Are there any special templates I can use??

Ooh and what kind of glue did you use? I have an elmers glue stick. Will that do?

I agree with Meg. Michaels sells special double adhesive tape (it's not as thick as regualr double sided tape) and it worked WONDERFULLY!!! There was no mess or anything!

I used a really good printer. my friend who is a graphic designer designed everything in photoshop and then lent me his printer to print on. I know that doesn't help, but maybe have it printed at a print shop this way the quality is good.

What are you making these for?

cut regular paper & print first. also, use the sizes from C&P's website, and adjust the height to your liking.

also, use the glue dots. i used the double sided tape from scrapbook adhesives (ac moore) & it sux it was very easy to pull the invitation apart. the glue dots are permanent. if someone tried to take it apart it will rip.

all you need is double sided tape, just make sure its permanent double sided tape.  You can buy it at CVS, eckerds or any store like that. Just stay away from the glue. Honestly, its what invitation companies use too, when i received samples i opened them up to check it out and they all used double sided tape too

Oh, you'll have so much fun!! I really enjoyed doing mine. I think more important that having photoshop is to have a good printer. I believe he has a cannon ink jet and everyone that got our invites couldn't believe i printed them on a home printer.

I didn't print my own pocketfold invitations but I did put them together and I experimented with different types of glues and tapes -- glue dots are hands down the way to go. They have thin ones as well as regular ones, if you're worried about it not laying flat. We cut the row of glue dots so that each dot was alone (still attached to the paper it comes on). This made it easier to manipulate where we wanted to place it.
If you're attaching ribbon, use a craft glue stick -- doesn't show thru the fabric

I agree -- you get a sense of accomplishment when you're done

Thats why i wanna do them!! It sounds like fun! But I couldnt imagien doing them for myself cause I was already stressed about so many other things. Doing them for my sister will be stress free. Especially since she's in Philly and cant bug me while IM doing them lol.
i got a beautiful sapphire paper with light yellow cardstock. the colors are so gorgeous together! theyre just practice though.

I got Martha Stewart wide tip glue pen (or something like that) from Michaels. It's kind of like a cross between a highlighter and a glue stick - very easy to use. I'll post mine if I ever finish them tonight!
