I really want to make my own runner but I don't know what kind of material to buy for the runner itself. I went to Michaels a few times and the only one they had was a plastic material which I don't think I can paint/write on. I saw someone from the Brides Review used cloth but I'm wondering if that's hard to work with. Any suggestions?

NOT one of my favorite DIY's by far. It wasn't difficult just a PITA to work with all that length. Runner from Michaels, printed text off computer, lots of sharpies, and don't forget to use a piece of wax paper under it while coloring in
We decided upon a quote from Song of Solomon to be at the alter end of the runner. Our names and date at the bottom

AC Moore has the fabric one ...I got mine for 15 with the coupon
I printed everything out on the comp and taped it my floor and traced it with a pencil and then went over it with fabric markers
It came out great
