DIY Save The Date Ideas!!

Now that I have my date on hold until the booking next week, I want to start coming up with my save the dates. I want to do some DIY save the dates & am looking for all sorts of ideas.
I am looking to have a subtle Phantom of the Opera theme to the wedding. My BM's dresses will be dark purple.

Ladies!! Any suggestions?? Even non-related phantom suggestions would be great since it's just a subtle theme.

There's the chandelier motif. Or gondolas. Might be too abstract.

Oooh! An opera house poster.

Or, you could make a single-fold card and cut the front piece in the shape of the bottom of the mask, and print it so that the date shows through the eye. You'd probably have to either print it first, or print on a separate card and mount it. You'd have to fit all of the info in the part covered by the forehead, and maybe round it out by putting a long stem rose in the whitespace at the bottom right.

ETA: I guess you could fit some wording behind the left cheek also.

you can make the save the dates look like theater tickets. And it is sooo easy to do. All you need is the special paper

Given the theme, I think that's a great idea!
