TOTALLY depends on what you want.
I've heard of DJ's only (no MC etc) for anywhere from $600-1200
DJ & MC can be $900-1800, then if you want lights, a live musician (like percussionist or saxophonist), plasmas, giveaways, etc., it just goes up.

My D.J. is costing $2080. For D.J., M.C. and basic lights. I didn't want to much stuff.

We're paying somewhere between around $950 for DJ, MC, basic lights, cocktail hour music and like 100 of those giveaway items (which will be ALL candy!!!).

DJ prices & packages range from $1000-5000. if you want lightshows & plasma tvs, it gets more expensive. I would say an aveage of $2000 [approx] is a good amount on a dj,and if they throw in an MC for that price [they should] that'll be a bonus!
