DJ Advice

So, this is a long story but I told my DJ awhile back that since the ballroom and dining room are 2 separate rooms, I would need additional speakers. He said no problem, but we never discussed it further.

Now, I sent my floor plan and list a couple weeks ago. Today he sends me an email that there are no more speakers left in the warehouse and if I want them, I have to rent them for $275.

I feel like after all this time I shouldn't have to pay to rent them. But, we also didn't speak at length about the speakers.

What should I do? Fh says to leave the dining room without speakers. But, then we cannot hear the speeches or music during dinner.

I know this is a very annoying question BUT is it in the contract? If not

I would just explain to the DJ that you thought this was included...it is days before your wedding you have a million things to worry about and dont have the extra funds...if he gives you a hard time then perhaps lower his tip since you had to shell out for something he said he'd provide (that might be mean but.....)

No- stupid me- it's not in the contract! But, this is a DJ that does our work year end parties, had done weddings for many friends, all my cousins, etc. Also, we email and talk casually about things besides my wedding since we have friends and acquaintances in common.

The other thing is that if he had speakers in the warehouse, he would bring them, as he said before it was no problem. But, he waited until today and the company has 6 parties on Friday so they don't have any extra ones there, they have to rent them.

He says he is, but I'll try again tomorrow. I need to talk to the DJ first.
