Anyone know if a DJ would come for like the cocktail hour and then 1 hour of the reception, do our song, introductions, father.daughter dance, and then thats it? I have a band I loooove...and would love them to play, but I also know they would not be great singing our wedding song....and those kinds of things....(its a steel drum/caribbean band) I don;t know if a DJ would be interested at all in only working 2 hours....anyone doing anything like this or checked out something like this>?

I am having a band ( a reggae / Soca band too!!)..and a DJ, for the same reason you are doing it, to play the cocktail hour and first songs, etc. however they will switch off because my family wants to dance to some motown etc, and not reggae all night, so im having both all night long. My DJ is in jersey and is traveling in, hes great priced, but I dont know if he would work just for a few hours..I bet theres got to be someone there in Long Island who wouldnt mind just working for a few hours. Who is your band? Our is the verdict. What if you posted on teh vendor board, maybe a DJ will respond.
