DJ and MC or just one DJ/MC?

DJ and MC or just one DJ/MC?

What are the pros to having two guys serve as the DJ and MC as opposed to just one? Especially for the girls who are not having any group dances and not having bridal parties.

I'm not having a bridal party, group dances, or the boquet/garter toss. And we would rather not have an MC really involved in the wedding. We definitely don't want forced dancing and we really don't want to hear an MC all night long making announcements.

Any thoughts?

Oh, and I expect to have about 120 people. So my wedding isn't big but not really small either.

I think in your case, you might be better off with just the DJ. The MC is really meant for announcements and getting people up to dance, etc. But it sounds like you would be good w/ just the DJ.

I don't think there is any set rule. It's really up to you. I think if you have a big guest list (over 150) then an MC might be a good idea just to get everyone up and dancing, but you don't have to.

were small too (around 125) with 4 ppl on each side of the bp, and no bok garter or anything like that-and were doing dj and mc. originally i wanted to save money and do the combo, because i thought we didnt need 2 people, however, although i want a very low key wedding, i think its still going to help things to move along with having 2 people

We're having a small wedding (around 100 guests) and our bridal party is 3 bm, 3 gm and a flower girl...we're doing a one man mc/dj combo. We liked that he would be able to introduce us to the reception and make any announcements needed but would stay behind the DJ booth a lot and not be a 'cheesy' mc. Also we're not doing any crowd participation dances so no need for him to be out from the DJ booth.
