DJ curious

Good afternoon ladies,

My fiancee and I are currently in the phase of meeting with DJ's and hoping to book something by next week. I was wondering if anyone would care to offer some feedback and price ranges that you are paying. I got a quote that seemed a bit high, and I really was curious to see if it is high or actually fair for DJ's these days. Thanks in advance!

theres a wide range of prices of dj's...if you are not happy with one persons price there are def many others out there for less.

ALot of girls on here say FM entertainment is great and good prices too, i didnt book them so cant speak about personal experience

also tommy tunes ive heard alot about and has good prices

we met with a bunch of DJs and the price range was varied. i would say from 700-2000 was the price range we got. All came highly recommended so its hard to judge based on price.

I asked for the same things at each DJ and some quoted really high and others didnt. It boiled down to how comfortable we felt with the DJ, if we could hear a sample of what they could do (sound system, speaking voice over microphone etc), and what we were willing to spend. that being said, we did go with FM entertainment who seemed to be able to offer a lot for a lower price. and we felt that they complimented the style we wanted at our wedding.

Do you have a budget for DJ in mind? Maybe email some to get their package pricing and meet with the ones that are in your budget.

I actually got quoted 3,500 which seemed to be a little much. He also said that he had taken some money off because it was a referral.

Well it includes lights, video recap of the ceremony, zap pic during reception, and two plasma screens, oh and music during cocktail. As long as you gals don't think I'm being jipped I am good with it :) LOL

I don't post every day, but I always read the comments daily. You all are so knowledgable and it's so nice how everyone helps everyone out here.

Check out High Voltge. His base price is so reasonalbe and his add ons are great too.
We're doing DJ for recepetion and coctail hour, (No MC) 2 plasmas with photo montage and zap shots, I'm not positive the exact quote but it was around $2000.
His base price for the receoption is $800 for a DJ and you get two DJ's for that price.
I felt extrememly comfortable with him. FH and I agreed that VInny from High Voltage got our vision for our wedding and we're very excited his price was right too!
