FH and I met our third and final DJ this weekend and are now torn between 2 companies.
Both packages come in right around the same price ($2500-ish), however one company has plasma screens included in that quote. The other company is $2500 for everything else we want (same pkg), minus the plasmas.
We like both owners that we met, and both would be our MC the day of the event.
The plasmas are not the 'make or break' issue, so we are kind of stuck. I think FH wants the company we met on Saturday, but I feel like we get more for the money with the previous DJ.
What say you, wedding board?

If you really like both companies I would go with the one you get more for your money with....BUT if you don't care about the plasmas then I would get some feedback from other brides about the 2 companies and go with the one with the better track record.

Ok, but I'm pretty sure the 2nd company is not a LIW vendor, and when I did a search, I found just a few reviews. All reviews have been favorable though, even when I googled.
Obviously no one knows what to tell me, since this post has been viewed 20x and only you replied. lol

Maybe you can tell the one you're not getting plasmas from about the deal you're getting from the other company? They might lower the price they quoted you, in order to keep you.

LOL do you really want the plasmas? For us we did, we wanted to zap shots and wanted the photo montages (I'm putting them together myself). If that stuff isn't important to you and you really don't care about the plasmas and FH loves the other company then go with them...but if you feel like you'd like the plasmas as an extra touch then go with the one that includes them.. hope that helps! I think there's some room for bargaining here. If you go to the other company and say you really don't need the plasma's, maybe they'll reduce the price even further hence making them a more appealing option to your FH. OR like someone else said, go to the company without the plasma's and tell them what you're getting at the other company and maybe they'll hook you up.

If you don't specifically prefer one vendor or actual DJ over another, then I would go with the one that your are getting more from for the same price.
Or if you prefer the other vendor, than maybe try and negotiate with them. Tell them you want to work w/ them but you are getting the same package for the same price elsewhere with the plasmas. They might throw them in as well as to not lose business.

Thanks ladies. I will call the one from this weekend and see what he says about the plasma addition. I had told him who we met with when he asked, and he made a comment that he doesn't try to compete with that 'level' meaning they are a budget company.
I'm sure it will all work out and be great in the end.

I would ask the one that didn't include the plasmas to include it. You really have to go with your gut and use the one you feel more comfortable with. If it is the one that does not include the plasma tell then you want it and im sure they will add it if you book right then

who are you looking into ? Maybe we can help you out if we booked with the same ones or not. I also brought a quote I got from 1 vendor to another & told them I would book with them if they gave me a cheaper price & they did by $100!

Parties Alive gave us everything including the Plasmas for $2500 (steel drums, lit up booth, lights, ceremony music pre-recorded).
Big Hits gave us the same quote minus the Plasmas. I dont think he is going to throw them in, so it becomes a battle of the MC. lol
If anyone has discount info or additional input, please post!
