Ok so I'm pretty much causing my own drama on this one...BUT...I feel so stressed about choosing a DJ!!! I met with Tommy Tunes, FM Entertainment and LI Sound...maybe going to meet with EJ the DJ, Variety Music. The problem is I've never been to a event with any of them....so I feel nervous about picking one. So far, I've felt the best about FM Entertainment, and they have some awesome reviews on here....
I'm not sure what I'm looking for from you guys, but just wanted to vent. Any suggestions, thoughts on any if these DJ's?

All I can offer is that I booked with FM, I felt very confident in them and have heard nothing but great reviews on here about them
You have to pick the one you like the best

Re: DJ Drama
I've been to about 4 weddings that Tommy Tunes did. They are good but i dont know about the others.
I would go with the one with the best price and with the mc that u like. Some Mc's are VERY VERY VERY cheesy and thats ok for a kids party but not for a wedding. So i'd look at their mc's and go by that. The equiptment and all that is gonna be the same and they are all well known and respectable.

you don't really need to hear them. If they have good reviews and you've seen demo's of their work and mc's then u should be fine.

That's odd, I thought FM did private show cases. I want to meet with them as well and I was under the impression that they would do a private show for you.
Either way, all 3 you looked at have great reviews on this site. I would go with the one that gives you that special feeling and that you connect with as an individual.

They did...I meant actually seeing them at a wedding....but the private showcase was really good!!

Oh, I get what you mean. I was getting a little worried there for a second. I'm sure whoever you pick will be great!

Re: DJ Drama
FM entertainment did 2 weddings that I went to this year and they were great!!! I used some one not on this site that was a family friend and I was very happy with them.
I think that FM or Tommy would do an excellent job.

no problem..try not to stress over it. As long as they know what to play and what you want (ex- no request, chicken dance, conga line....) then you will be fine.. And keep a copy of that list you give them for your self and give it to your Matri'd or DOC/Planner and then incase they lose it you will still be prepared.

Re: DJ Drama
You said you are concerned about not hearing FM before booking them, they are offering a bunch of showcases I believe all starting next week. I am going to one in Islip on Monday. I have heard great things also. Maybe contact them and see if you can make any of them.
I think the DJ you can't go wrong because you can basically tell them what type of music you want to be played. IMO most DJ's are pretty similar. They play songs. If you are looking for one of those MC guys who runs around and hands out inflatable saxaphones then you need to look for personality...
