FH an I went to our first DJ appointment with Elegancia. Just as a background I am Puerto Rican and FH is Italian so we want a nice mixture of Latin music and American. We met with the owner, Jose, who showed us a great presentation. I was pleasantly suprised & he spent over an hour with us (uninterrupted). We are going to check out at least 2 more DJ's but we have a really good feeling about them.. :)

I met w Jose about 2 weeks ago. Loved the presentation, but I was totally shocked at the prices. FM me if you want to compare packages, I was given a book showing prices and my jaw dropped to the floor.
I called another DJ that is a vendor on LIW and while he has bilingual MC's, his prices are about 1/2 of what Elegancia charges.
I still havent decided who I will book but def shop around. Elegancia has a good rep and there is a 2009 bride who had nothing but great things to say. They really cater to multi cultural audiences..my only concern is that I dont want to blow 2500-3K on entertainment...

I can definetly see where you are coming from regarding the prices. However we are only looking at the very basic packages. So I'm pretty sure that the base package is comparable to others. I only have prices from 1 other DJ and it looks Elegancias prices are on the higher end when you start adding stuff. I am going to check Ultimate Sounds soon but I felt very comfortable with Jose so we'll see what happens!
What are you looking to have in your package?

I am looking for just basic DJ and MC, possibly add ons like Intelligent Lighting (the lights that move along to the beat of the music). Definitely don't want Plasma or Projection TV's... Its basically a package that Elegancia was charging around $2,275 for and frankly, I know other DJs offer the same deal for only $1500-1600.
