DJ help

Hi -

While I'm a future husband, I'm writing on my fiancee's behalf. We need a DJ for our May wedding. We want one that is:

1) Not obnoxious
2) Can 'feel' the room and know which dance music to play when
3) Is open to the songs we like.

We are getting married at the Bridgeview Yacht Club. Does anyone know a Long Island DJ that's not super-in-your-face but plays great music?

ETA- he told us all about weddings he had done that were full of 'different' kind of music, while mixing in dance and crowd pleasers!

See if you can get a DJ only and not a MC. We are having a small wedding and only have the DJ. I think that most of the night he will be playing music/some introductions and won't be on the dance floor.

My friend got married and BV and used LI Sound, I think EJ was her DJ or MC. They were exactly what you want.

we were looking for the same. as the poster above said- try just a dj and no mc. we are having a close to 200 person wedding and getting a DJ only- Dan with Tommy Tunes fits the bill for all your requirements! FH is picking most of the music and Dan talked about how he would 'feel the room' to decide when to play which songs.

we have about the same number of people and were advised against doing just a 'one man show'. it wasnt as much about being the annoying MC on the dance floor-- it was because it is hard to keep up with the music and communicate with the maitre d and take requests and ETC ETC ETC

the difference was only a couple hundred bucks.

We're using FM Entertainment. They really get that not everyone wants an IN YOUR FACE hollering MC/DJ. We got to attend a private showcase where they were able to show us the different energy styles of emceeing. They also have great pricing so check them out!

We used Absolute Entertainment. They were awesome! They are not in your face during the reception. You wouldn't even know they were there if you didn't hear the music. lol

I can HIGHLY recommend Tommy Tunes not only because I am using them myself but I have been to other weddings where they have been the DJ and they are exactly what you are looking for. Their reputation speaks for themselves. They are the best of the best!

I have been to a few weddings with Tommy Tunes and thats why I booked them. I origionally did not want an MC for the reasons other people posted but they assured me it was to keep he party going and to gently encourage people to dance

He was personable, professional and basically would do whatever you wanted him to as far as music and mc style.

His prices were also great!!
