DJ Help for a Bride on a BUDGET

DJ Help for a Bride on a BUDGET

Alright, maybe I'm a small town girl from California or something.. but I've never heard of weddings with light shows and giveaways from the DJ. That's all foreign to me.

My FH and I are paying for the wedding ourselves and he's a West Point cadet that pretty much receives enough income to cover a plane tickets to see me on the holidays, so we are on a tight tight budget. I'm just looking for a DJ that will play some music for the ceremony and reception. Is it possible to find a good DJ for $1000? PLEASE help me out with any suggestions.

I heard Long Island Sound is good and I know their basic package for a deejay is around $1000. If you want an MC too...it's $1500

This might sound dumb.. but what does the MC do? All the weddings I've been to, the DJ got the guest dancing and announced anything that needed to be announced.

Try High Energy, they are a vendor on this site. I haven't found anyone cheaper.

FM Entertainment does have a DJ package (no MC) that is about $1000.

MC's are becoming more common. But FM is able to handel weddings minus an MC.

The MC isnt behind the deejay equipment...his job is to announce everything, get the crowd up etc. But you are right...the deejay can do the same thing

High Energy

Our package was mc/dj full wedding/ch/reception for $900 but since i booked two years ago you may just need to drop the MC and just have the dj which is perfectly fine.

Ultimate Sounds DJ is great and very affordable. They will customize your package and I think it might be around 1K. I dont remember but I used them and they were by far my favorite vendor.

I'm using Ultimate Sound Djs. DJ/MC combo is $999. You can upgrade for lights and favors if you're interested in that. They are extremely professional and I really like that.

High Voltage has lower prices than alot. In 2006 for the 4 hr receptioon it was $850 for DJ only who would announce whatever needed to be announced.

And you don''t really need music at CH - - people so busy checking food and eating it they don't notice or miss it! we had RH pipe in cd music for that hour which will save you.

Not sure how much they have increased prices since 2006 but I'd check them. FM entertainment had similar prices. Both have good reviews.
