DJ help needed

Hey all,

I am going for my first DJ consult tomorrow and I honestly don't have any clue where I should be talking to them price wise. I want to go in with at least some expectation as to what I should be paying, and I want to negotiate smartly! I'm really looking for a basic sort of package...no fancy light shows or giveaways. Just good music! Anybody doing something simple willing to FM me the quotes you've been given?

lots of djs have their prices on their websites btw so check before you go

Basic packages will start at about $850 and go up from there. HTH

i have prices on LI Sound and After Hours I think at home. I;d just ask brides here what they're paying. they;re FM you.

I am having nothing fancy except a violinist for my ceremony since it is at the hall. I am paying $1175 for everything. (cocktail hour, 4 hours party, and violinist)

Everywhere from 895 to 4k. It just depends what you want. You seem like you just want a simple package. If you are quoted anything over 1200, you are getting ripped off.

Our package was the ceremony, CH, through reception -- so basically from 11:30 - 5:30. Two-man team (DJ & MC) and nothing else. No lights, hand-outs, etc. It was $1300 total.
