i've got to find my dj in basically one day so i only want to see people that i know will fit in my budget and that aren't (preferrably) too far from my house.
i'm looking for someone under $3K and even better under $2K. i need a dj and emcee for like 5 hours, but no dancers or anything. i don't want any fancy giveaways or anything. tommy's tunes has already been recommended.
anyone have any other recommendations? also please explain what exactly you liked about the person. i'm looking for someone who can get the crowd going esp b/c we have mostly older folks. thanks!!!
oh yeah i'm looking in eastern nassau/western suffolk.

I highly recommed Energy Entertainment . Mark Cord was my MC and Chris was the DJ, they were amazing and they were one of my favorite parts from my wedding.

We used Hart to Hart. Pierre was our MC, I don't remember the DJ's name. They were fabulous!! They had everyone on the dance floor pretty much all night -even my mother! She keeps saying she has never danced like that at any wedding. We paid less then $2K for this we had them do the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception music and it included give aways. Less time and no give aways would porbably cost less. But this is a 2001 rate, so it may work out to be the same.
I will say that I hated dealing with the sales office. This was the vendor I was most worried about. About 15 minutes into the reception - I forgot all about that - they exceeded my expectations!
But my receommendation is really for Pierre, I cannot attest to anyone else that works there.

Go with in the MIX DJ's, you'll find them on this website. We used them for our wedding & they were AWESOME!!! We used them for our ceremony, cocktail hour & reception, plus they did individual songs (that we requested) for all of our bridal party members, plus we had a large screen tv up front & someone went around taking pictures of the guests & they saw themselves up on the screen, people loved that, plus we got to keep the pictures on CD at the end! PLUS just about all of our guests LOVED the music they played, I can't say anything bad about them. All that for UNDER $2000!

We just booked with Starlight Express last night. They were recommend by my FMIL's friend who saw them at a wedding in the summer. After talking with Vinny we got him to do 4-hour reception plus cocktail with lights for $1600. We went to Jericho terrace showcase to see them and they were very good. Good luck

I have an appt with Absolute Entertainment in two weeks. They are located in Sayville.
They want $1,195 for a DJ & MC for 5 hours or $995 for just a DJ for 5 hours.

I am using Let Us Entertain You in Massapequa. I am paying $1400 but I am getting alot for my money. I am getting MC, DJ, giveaways, lights, bubble machine, etc. He has different packages for different prices ranges. If you want more information, send me a forum.

We booked Feel the Vibe Entertainment- they're awesome. The owners are formerly of Body Rock and they are great! They have packages that start at $1000. We booked them because they have great energy to keep the crowd up and dancing all night long. FM me if you want more info on them! Good luck!!

Another vote for Get In Tune DJs.We booked them for our wedding back in june 2002.Went to see them again tuesday night doing a showcase at the Meadow Club they were awesome.And VERY reasonable.Talk to Glen He is a sweet heart not pushie at all.They are located in centereach.There number is 631-737-0025.Hope i could help out
