So FH and I went to our first sit down with a dj, he had good personality, showed us some footage, they also do video. He gave a price but we have nothing to base that on since we have never done this before.
I am curiouse who everyone used, what they spent.

for the stripped down DJ service (DJ, no MC or lights, video....) they frequently quote about 800-1k

About $1600, but ours includes a photo montage of our baby pictures playing on a screen during dinner. It was $1375 for just the DJ, MC and some lights.
$1800 for ceremony, ch and reception music. 1 dj, 1 mc and basic lighting.

$850 for DJ/MC (one person) for ceremony, cocktail hour, and four hour reception and also a basic lighting package.

I am spending A LOT - close to 3000. BUT I am getting a lot too. I have the DJ, MC, Zap Shots, a tribute video and music for cocktail hour and reception... they will also be supporting the singer I have for the ceremony by setting him up with a microphone and amps.
