So FH and I went to our first sit down with a dj, he had good personality, showed us some footage, they also do video. He gave a price but we have nothing to base that on since we have never done this before.
I am curiouse who everyone used, what they spent.

We're spending about $3K and that's with DJ/MC, plasma screens, some light package, a sax player, a percussionist and a 3 piece jazz band for CH.

Have gotten quotes of $1200 to 1500 with just DJ/MC, and simple light package

I'm just not sure if we are getting a good price 1700 for dj 175 for lighting and 850 for an unedited video?

We have $1900.00. 1 DJ, 1 MC , lighting package, Mirror ball and giveaways and two seperate photo montages. I think thats it.

1500 includes DJ/MC video screen 12 lights baby photo motatge ... he takes 200 pictures of the guest and display them on the screen a DVD of all pictures and a CD of our songs ...

thats pretty good, and what lighting are you getting for $175? thats real good, are you just get the 1 light feature or is it 3 or 6.

We are using SGE. We are spending $2500 for: 6 hours (including CH) 1 DJ 1 MC Lighting Smoke machine One plasma screen Video montage Pictures of the reception given to us on a DVD
Complete control of music.
They are really nice people.

Mine is $800 for the reception...4 speakers, 2 subwoofers, 2 DJ's (each does a different style of music). And since they're friends of ours, they're including intelligent and strobe lighting in that price. I believe they normally start at $1300 and lighting would be an additional $400.
