DJ Lights

DJ Lights

There was an old thread on this with some opinions, but now I'll pose the question to you all...

Do I need DJ lights? And is there a difference between a 'light show' and just mood lighting? We're having the reception at a rustic, colonial type of restaurant, and I just don't see DJ lights working with that ambiance. But then again, is it going to be weird to just have the restaurant lights dimmed?

It really all depends on what you want. Its one of those things where its nice if you have them, but if you dont - no one will miss them. If you want a light show, but nothing overboard, I would talk to your dj about it. He may be able to offer you something simple and lowkey. If not, I would skip it all together.

I see what you mean. I dont think an intelligent light show goes with that type of hall but perhaps a white spotlight or something with white lights might look more bright without making it look like a club.

Have you booked a DJ?

Thanks for the suggestions!

No, we haven't booked yet. So far, I'm planning to meet with Vinny from High Voltage this week.

A basic spotlight or white lights makes sense to me too. Intelligent lighting among a painting of George Washington just seems a bit too funky.
