we booked just a one man dj/mc. our guy is awesome and will do a great job by himself. we didn't think an mc was necessary.
We booked a one man dj/mc too. I thought having a separate MC was overkill.
We are looking at packages that include both a dj and and mc...we didn't want the music to suffer as a result of the guy being on the floor.
We were told that you only need one person, however, if you are planning to do a lot of things, such as the BOK toss, garter toss along with numerous 'special' dances, the dollar dance, any dedications, other special events that need announcements/planning..etc. it is better to have two people so one can mix the music as the other does the anouncing and can also be on the floor if you want a lot of interaction. However, the DJ told us that they can do a big interactive wedding with just one person and it will be fine.
I guess it depends on how much extra stuff will be going on and how big of a crowd you'll need to interact with. We are having a small wedding so we only booked a one man dj/mc.
