DJ/MC?

I'm kind of torn here. I really wanted just a DJ, since I'm not into the whole 'party motivator' style of your typical MC. Yet, every DJ company I met with kind of pushes the Dj and MC combo. Is anyone not having an MC? Past brides, did not having an MC make the party feel dull?

I don't know what to do!

DJ/MC?

It depends on your crowd and the type of party you want. I'm using both at 150 guests, mostly because I'm huge on music and my group loves to dance, so I want the DJ to concentrate on the music and the MC to concentrate on the crowd.

Re: DJ/MC?

We are having one person only, but this works for us since we have a wedding with less than 100 people. I think it depends on the size of your wedding and the experience of the the DJ/MC.

DJ/MC?

we are having both because of the size of our wedding (175). the mc also coordinates with the maitre d so timing is right.

they dont HAVE to be pushy, if you get the right guys!

DJ/MC?

I'll definitely have an MC. I think they're totally useful - you want people dancing at your wedding! My fear is that no one will dance, so we'll definitely have one.

Re: DJ/MC?

I'm only having around 100 people and the room is not that big, so I thought an MC would be overkill. It's also not the vibe I wanted, like I just want good music and my friends dont' need anyone to encourage them to dance so I'm not even worried about it at all. Depends what you like! I've been to weddings with both and it is equally fun!

Re: DJ/MC?

I was having the same dilemma and went with just the DJ.
A couple of the DJ companies told me you get an MC for 3 reasons:
(which made sense to me)
1. you saw it at another wedding and you think you should have it
2. you are doing coordinated dancings (line dances etc)
3.you are having a huge wedding and want more talking.

I choose just the DJ we are having 125 people and we didnt want any of the line dances or anyone on the mic jsut want it to flow.
