We are having our reception at the Swan Club, they told us, if the weather is nice, we could have our cocktail hour outside on the deck.
Are there any dj's that do 4 hours only?
And if the weather is bad that day and we have the cocktail hr indoors, is having no music a good or bad thing?
The room we are having the reception in is the smallest one they have, we are only having about 60 people, I don't want to spend alot on a dj, I wont be taking full advantage of.
Hope that makes sense..
Thanks in advance

Re: DJ question?
most dj packages are only for 4 hours... the ones I have been to anyway. And if your CH is inside maybe they can plat a cd for you?

Re: DJ question?
I think you defintely need *some* kind of music. A Cd would work fine - see if your hall will let you do that. Something light - easy listening, jazz, steel drums even.
Most DJs do 4 hours. If you need an inexpensive one, you can check out my Budget vendor page:
most dj packages charge extra for the 1 hr cocktail hr....and usually start with the 4 hr reception. i think you should have some kind of music playing in the background, though

Re: DJ question?
I am not doing music at the CH. I realize that this is not very 'traditional', but I could not justify the $$$. My CH will be outside (PLEASE NO RAIN ) with the sounds of nature.

Re: DJ question?
I know my DJ throws the coktail hour in for free so if you are outside no big loss, and if you are inside then he will also be there.
