Ok I'm getting married at the Crest Hollow on April 10. Our CH starts at 6:30 and we added the Vienesse Hour so the whole thing is from 6:30- 12:30.
Ok the CH may be outside (however it is doubtful especially looking at how this April was). It's up to us and we can decide that day if we want it outside or inside. If it is outside, I cannot play music so I won't need a DJ.
So what do I tell potential DJ's? That I will definitely need them from 7:30-12:30 and possibly from 6:30-7:30? I don't want to pay for a DJ for 6 hours b/c if it's beautiful out and we have the CH outside, then we won't need them from 6:30-7:30.
Any advice?
And am I right in having a DJ for the vienesse hour? People do that right?

Most DJs will just set up a few speakers in the cocktail hour room and put a CD in for the hour, while they set up their equipment in the main room.
Does CHCC have speakers inserted in their walls for the cocktail hour? I know my hall, Floral Terrace, has speakers like this already in the walls so we can just give someone there a CD to play.

Hmm that's a good question. I think they do but I'll email my banquet manager.
If they do then I'll tell the DJ to come prepared with a CD and that we need him from 7:30-12:30.

You have to have the DJ for V hour. Otherwise they'll be breaking down while ur guests and the food are still there.
You can def still have DJ even if u have cocktail outside. They just need to run a wire and have a actual amp outside. It can still work though and ur dj should be able to accommidate u. Oh wait, i just re-read ur post. Is crest hollow saying u can't have music outside? It kinda makes sense since there are people outside in the pool and stuff but i dunno.
You'll probably have to hire the DJ from 6:30-the end of ur entire reception. The DJ wouldn't want to arrive during cocktail hour just in case.

Yeah Crest Hollow said that there can't be any music played outside. Like I said I'm doubtful that we will even end up with the outdoor CH. I'm going to email my BM for suggestions and talk it over with the DJ's. Thanks!!
