DJ Question

So about 2 weeks ago, I had a sudden death in the family. I had an appt. to book th the DJ we decided to go with. Since I was overwhelmed with everything going on in my family, I quickly called the company and told them we wanted them to hold our date but that I couldn't get in to put a payment down for a bit. They held our date for us. Here is the minor issue...my FH and I talked about negotiating with the DJ first. With everything going on, I totally forgot. Is it bad to try to haggle them now?

you can tell them that you did check out other vendors and they were throqing in this or that or even just say 'we really liked what you had to offer but is it possible to work a little with the price'

And I would definitely try to negotiate....the worst that happens is they say no and then they could potentially lose your business.
