So I've started my DJ search and met with Variety. I really liked their performance at a recent showcase and am almost hesitant to look at others since I got such a good vibe from them after meeting for my consultation, but want to make sure what they are quoting is reasonble.
For DJ and MC for cocktail and reception, lit front board and 2 towers, uplighting for the reception room, 2 plasmas with zap photos and montage, a sinatra singer during dinner hour, and party handouts, they quoted at around $3,000. Is this what others have seen?

This seems too high, especially you are not in prime wedding season, and not on a Saturday.
I would check around. You should be able to get the price lower. Maybe the Sinatra singer could be raising the price a little.

check out high energy entertainment. i have used ralph for years and have referred him to my old compnay for parties. his rates r great and everyone has loved him. i booked him and i couldnt be happier and confident.

That price seems very reasonable. The live music/singer always jacks up the price. Im paying more without a singer. But still shop around. Even if it one or two more places so if someone offers you somethig better even if ur not crazy about it you can go back and say another place offer me this and that.
I think it sounds extremely reasonable for all that! I have seen places charge upwards of $3k to $6k for uplighting alone!

i used Variety at my wedding and they gave me the best price, which was good because i was probably going to book with them regardless
for all that stuff, including the Sinatra singer, i think your quote sounds about right.

It sounds reasonable to me, and I got a similar package for a little $ more through DanceJock. They are located in Deer Park if you are interested. Is your DJ a house vendor(eat free)?

Your venue is charging you for using an outside vendor?? Where is your wedding? Mine just requires the 1 million liability certificate to be faxed.

You will have to pay for them to eat. Usually it is half the regular price for a vendor
I'd shop around a bit, but you are getting a lot. Uplighting, the Sinatra singer.....all of that is not cheap! But it doesn't hurt to do a little price comparing
