DJ Recommendation -less than $900
I'm looking for a well recommended DJ (whose's gotten good word of mouth) who will do a small 4HR wedding for less than $900. Looking for a classy DH/MC duo- laid back and not in your face or shouting. Top Hat charges $650 but they are already booked. LI Sound charges $850-$950 but they have gotten some bad reviews. Spin around Sound is well received but at $1400 is way over my budget. Continental DJ is $850 but not matching our style. Stef98 is recommending Domino Entertainment who goes for $650 but I haven't read any other info on them. Plan to call. Music is important but given my small affair - anything less than $900 is reasonable. or $1000 if they are absolutely great. Also 40 of the 100 people are old and probably won't dance..picture it more a family affair than a huge shindig. Any help is greatly appreciated. Txs!

Actually I want the same thing. Jazz (louis armstrong, ella fitzgerald, tony benett, etc.) for dinner time and then kick it up for dancing. I also didn't want a lot of 90's music. They did have a tape but it really wasn't a good show of what they do. It was a Sweet 16, but not a good quality tape. I feel pretty confident because my mom did see them perform and she loves to dance, plus they were very accomadating to my choices, so far. I'll know more after I meet with them for the last time before the wedding (labor day weekend.) I'll post again after that. Oh yes, 631.

Stef - Domino DJ- I'm excited
Stef! I'm sooo excited. I just spoke to Donna and she seemed really nice and accomodating, not in a phony way. I got her to send me a list of referrals, play list and a video (that's 10 yrs old but they plan to update). They quoted the same price asd well. I can't wait to get their packet. My only hesitation, which I expressed, is I wish more people could refer Domino Entertainment, so I know more people have seen them. But so far, they sound like a good fit. Stef- who do you ahve as the DJ/MC. Is there someone specific I should ask for? Thanks for all yoru help! :)

fallbride - Domino DJ- I`m excited
Actually fallbride, I don't know who the dj/mc team is. I think it's just one team. It's not a huge operation with several djs, i don't believe.

I would strongly recommend you check out Music by Michael. I think his website is musicbymichael.com His prices are just about $1,000 but he offers a very personalized approach. He also does all the weddings.

Try Celebrity Music (www.celebmusic.com). They have a cheesy site, but I've been to parties of theirs and they are great. Charlie is doing our wedding and he is very reason--around your price range.Welcome New Vendors
