I would like to have just a DJ/MC no band. But was wondering if there were any recommendations? It is very important that he/she play hip hop and cater to a more younger crowd but is also very professional when doing the wedding stuff. THanks~! by the way what is the average cost?

Re: DJ recommendations?
Variety Music was great!!!!! They were awesome with some of our strange music requests! (Our first dance was to 'Meet the Mets' They will cater to whatever you want! And the MC took the attention away from me so fast when I got a bloody nose during the cake eating that not one guest new what happened.
We had a DJ and MC and it cost around $900 for 4 hours!!!!

Re: DJ recommendations?
We used Energy Entertainment. They were GREAT. They will play whatever you want...and nothing you don't want.
I have been to about 5 or so weddings where Ralph was the DJ and we always had a great time. He's fun, but not over the top, which I like!
I think the packages we saw were about $1000-2000, but I think you can pick something that suits your needs.

Re: DJ recommendations?
we had FM Entertainment for our wedding. Frank will personalize what he plays for you according to the 'must play' list you give him.
they are very reasonable.

Re: DJ recommendations?
We used Spin Around Sound (an LIW vendor) and they were awesome beyond words. We met with Tom (one of the owners & our MC) and talked about music and told him what we liked and the music was tailored exactly to what we wanted. You can give them a request list ahead of time and they will play that, plus other music that you've talked about. I can't rave about them enough.

We are going to use FM Entertainment. I went to see a showcase and I just loved Frank. He was very personable and open to just about anything. The thing I liked about him was that he was into the music and not the hype. He has the extras to offer... singers, sax, give aways, lights....but it wasn't about the extras to him. It was about your wedding and your music and getting your guests to dance. I plan on boogie-ing all night!!!

I just booked FM Entertainment as well. I went to the same showcase as Jiffy and Frank did a fabulous job.

Energy Entertainment. Ask for Mark Cord. Very professional.
