DJ recommendations

In a perfect world I'd have a band playing. But it's not perfect so I'm looking to hire a DJ. I recieved a DVD from one company but it was a lot of group dances and party handouts. It looked like a sweet 16 not a wedding!! Can anyone recommend a little bit mroe low key DJ. Obviously read the crowd and play appropriate music and make some announcements. I want people dancing and having fun but I want it to be elegant too.

Re: DJ recommendations

That is the type of stuff you will see most DJ's do if they are sending you a DVD. They usually show that because that is showing their best fun/high engergy. All DJ's can do that and they can also NOT do it if you want. If you think about it - if he is sending you a DVD, what is he going to show you if he isn't showing people dancing, laughing/ having fun.

Like I said, any DJ will be more than happy to customize your event. I know mine did..FM Entertainment - I am not doing line dancing/give aways.

Re: DJ recommendations

The 1 best DJ's in LI, are Tommy's Tunes (i used them, my MC was Joe E) and Starlight Express . . . They're both awesome! I never went to a wedding where Starlight express was the Dj, but I;ve heard wonderful things about them.

Tommy's Tunes - my MC, Joe E, he was actually rhe guy that did Jamie Lynn Sigler's wedding (From the sopranos).

I'm not a band person, and me and Dh are young, so we didn't understand why epople have bands. . . lol. We have 2 weddings next yr, and the people are bith having bands, and we just are like, ok, well whatever . . . At least w/. djs and MC's they play SO much stuff. and they really know how to get people on the dance floor and have a good time, So if u really a band, dont worry about it, cause DJ'S are so much better!

That's so true. The Dj's I used(Xtreme Sounds)definitely did. They asked me what I wanted and what I didn't and made it happen. They even had a package called elegance. You should check them out. They weren't pushy or 'in your face' people and still managed to have everyone on the dance floor.I can't help but rave about the fantastic job they did at my reception.Their # is: 631-888-3562 or their website is www.Xtremesoundsdj.com
Good luck!

Vinny from High Voltage - without question! Doesn't pressure you - and gives you as much or as little as you want. Definitely meet with him.
