DJ recommendations

I'm trying to find a DJ now.

I grew up listening to Motown, the J-Five, Kool & the Gang, Earth Wind & Fire - so that's my favorite type of music from the 70s/80s. -I hate disco.

FH and I like Dave Matthews, John Mayer, and jam bands but only a few of our friends are into that kind of music. So we need some hip-hop thrown into the mix too but nothing 'heavy' - for lack of a better word, and some of the Top 40 stuff.

Basically, we're having a very diverse crowd so I'm looking for someone is REALLY good at playing some of everything but none of the cheesy wedding music. I know the cheesy music is fun sometimes but that's not really the crowd we're going to have.

He doesn't do all the give-aways, fog machines, photo montages... He's laid back and low key and makes it all about the music. He's doing for me our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception music all for one price, that was just above another quote I got and the vibe from Gary was 10 times better....

He also gives you like 30 names of referrals of people he's done work for. I heard back from almost all of them and they LOVED him... One was as recent as the weekend I met him - that Saturday (we met him Tuesday)...
