DJ Recommendations

DJ Recommendations

Looking for a DJ that is not going to be so over the top or intrusive. I find that many of them can get very cornball, and I am looking to avoid that. I want someone who will play the music, coordinate things, and get the crowd going. No chicken dances or giving out funny hats. Thank you!

Re: DJ Recommendations

I wanted the same thing as you. I used Starlight Express. Our MC was Vinny. They will be as involved as you want them to be. Vinny wasn't cheesey at all at our reception.

LI sound. Very professional and they dont play anything corny (unless you want them too) they also have the most reasonable rates that i have seen so far. fm me if you want prices, ect.

OMG, i am the same way and want the same stuff. We are using GET IN TUNE. They have been very accomodating and really seem to listen to what you have to say. If you go to thier website they will list all the showcases they do so you can go check them out and meet with them in person. Of course keep in mind the showcases are not exactly normal since they have to fit everything into like 15 minutes but it is still good.

Most DJ's will not do that stuff if you don't want it.. but believe it or not, some people actually want those chicken dances..lol..
I've heard good things about FM Entertainment (i'm not using them, although I wish I would have checked them out) -
WE are using Bravura - they are recommended by our RH and really wowed us at our meeting.
They also do live music for receptions/cocktail hr/ or ceremony.

We used Tommy's Tunes and they were awesome!!! Joey was our MC and he was terrific...they were the only vendor that we booked on the spot w/o checking out other DJs!!!

Re: DJ Recommendations

I used FM entertainment and LOVED LOVED LOVED them. Frank is a doll and they did the best job of playing exactly what we wanted. People are STILL talking about our wedding 7 months later b/c of the music!!
