Dj showcases
We saw one at a showcase at our venue. It's impossible to get a feel for how they'd be at your wedding though so we didn't go to any more. My DJ doesn't even do them because he says it's such a waste... Every DJ is gonna look good at a showcase because they're gonna put their best MC out there and it's just not real. I went strictly off recommendations from brides who Used them for their weddings.

I agree showcases are a show. They used all they're best equipment, then you find out how pricey it really is when you ask for it. I went for Bravo Sound because I saw them at a precious party. Loved them so much I knew I wanted them for my wedding. we had a blast the entire night!

I went to a private showcase ONLY because I got $200 off a package for booking one lol Otherwise I would not have done it. I thought it was going to be so cheesy and uncomfortable but I have to admit I found it helpful to see how he made the announcements and hearing some of the mixes playing in the background while we chatted made me more confident that he knew what he was doing lol

Also wanted to add because it was private he catered everything to what I was looking for in my emails to him. He had blue uplighting set up and he did announcements with our names and pronounced the last name correctly which is not easy lol So I was impressed and we did end up booking him. If you're looking its FM Entertainment by the way. :)

Re: Dj showcases
You definitely don't have to go to them. But I found it very helpful. I liked getting to hear the voices of the DJs and how they sound on the mic. I was surprised that I could see a difference in quality just from seeing them at showcases. We went with Variety Music (just booked this weekend after seeing them again last Monday). Ray was great, didn't try to talk us into anything! He knows our venue well and even said since we're having a day wedding, uplighting would be a waste of money (I definitely thought he'd try taking us into that- I was pleasantly shocked at this!). I actually saw them at 4 different showcases (2 where they performed) and liked that I got a sense of the way they do business from meeting them so many times.

Re: Dj showcases
We got Sergio by default. He was the only one available lol. Just booked them but our wedding is in October. My fiancé really wanted Ray though. So far, DJs have been the hardest, most daunting task for me.Welcome New Vendors
