DJ STRESS!!! **UPDATED!!**

I know I spoke to one of you about this already, but I'm so super stressed out about my DJ situation!!

So hear's the short version. As most of you know I wanted a band, not a DJ, but after hearing my venue's house DJ I really liked them. I told FH we could book them with the ONE condition that we have the specific MC that we saw at the showcase. FH went to book them without me and came back with the contract- it had the MC's name with a question mark next to it!

A few months later I saw this MC (who wrote the contract) at a showcase and asked him about this. He stated that he cannot commit to anyone, as they go where they are needed ( he is the Italian speaking MC) so as long as no one needs an Italian MC he will be there.

This totally stresses me out!!!!!!! I don't like not knowing who will be my MC or, for that matter, who my DJ will be! I'm really on the fence right now about losing my deposit money and finding a new DJ/band or just sticking it out and praying for the best.

Any advice?????

I spoke with Joe from Genesis today and he reassured me that I would definitely have the MC I wanted for our wedding and that it would be revised in our contract!!! So happy they were so accommodating... prob could have saved myself a lot of stress and just called him in the first place!! So happy it worked out- thanks ladies!!

Hmm, I'd be a little stressed out about this also. But in a way I can totally understand where the company is coming from. If someone needed and Italian speaking MC and you don't then I can see him going where that particular skill is needed. But not knowing would kind of drive me crazy also. They can't guarantee which DJ you'll get either? If so, why not?

Have you met any of the other MC there or seen any in action that you like who can be a back up?

We are booked w Bravura, we have our MC on our contract and a second choice in case of emergency. They have an italian MC who also sings, so we booked him for vocals, so he will be there no matter what, we are just crossing our fingers at this point that no one tries to steal our MC. If they get a second bride for my date and time then I will have to have the Singer also MC.

If you are looking to mix DJ and band I think bravura might work well for you. We added percussion as well and the feel is amazing in the room at Showcases.

I do not know what you would loose in a deposit, but it seems like in a way i am waiting to see as well.

I am 100% in your situation and I KNOW!!!!

As much as I want him, I personally wouldn't be disappointed with any of the other MC's. Would you feel more comfortable if you met them all?

If the issue is that they can't promise you the MC because he can speak Italian....why can't you tell them that you want an Italian speaking MC...lol

Sorry...just trying to make a little joke to take some of the stress away.

HAHA!! I actually said to FH that he can say congrats to us in Italian if that means I can secure him! I think I may have an uncle who is Italian, but no one in my or FH's family is Italian, so it would probably make for a really funny story

I understand that this is what this company does, but I feel like I booked them super early and SPECIFICALLY stated the MC I wanted when I met with them, so they decide to change it when it's just FH there (which I blame FH for too). I just feel that I booked them early and if I want a specific MC (just like someone who wants a certain language speaking MC) then I should get it. What happens if they have 5 DJ's and 4 out of 5 are specific language DJ's who all get booked- do I get the last pic just bc I don't need a specific language speaking DJ???

It is just super frustrating and really doesn't make any sense to me at all. I'm gonna have to do a lot of soul searching with this one!

This to me doesn't make sense, if you booked him and he is available as of right now then you should get him, if someone does need an Italian mc then they should have to go elsewhere...this is what I dislike about these companies...

Yeah I agree, that seems ridiculous. I just met with a DJ this weekend and he told me that it would be HIM that does my wedding and the only way it's another DJ is if there was a serious emergency that he couldn't get there for and that hasn't even happened in that company yet. I mean, it's the same thing with photos, we know who our photographer is for the day.

I agree with this completely! You booked that day with that DJ, so now he should be NOT AVAILABLE, so if someone needs an italian speaking DJ they should go elsewhere or change their date if they have to. I would complain and say that you are going to book with someone else if you don't get the guy that you want. I think these guys forget how much we are investing in this and they're all out for themselves.

I wouldn't stress over it though, I'd just get angry lol.
My FH has the Godzilla roar on his phone and whenever I get a little crazy he plays it and starts telling everyone Bridezilla is on the loose lol

Def Stressing, We chose heart to Heart and we literally sat there and watched videos of diff MC and Dj's
we then went from there and chose who we wanted
