we originally booked phil as our one man dj/mc person bc we didnt want a 2 man team. we also booked no lighting at all bc we thought that it might take away from the old-fashioned charm of the woodlands.
however...lately we have been questioning whether or not we should add an additional person...we would def keep phil as our MC and then get another DJ. I just keep hearing ppl say that with a wedding our size its better to have 2 guys....even if we arent doing line dances and dont want anything crazy..
also...i am worried that having no lighting will look like something is missing so i am considering just adding the basic lighting package.
its not much money to add these things on to our package....but i am just not sure if we need them....what do you all think?

Re: dj upgrades
i think that you should get a second person. it is a lot for one person to dj & mc for the entire night.
i am not really sure about lighting.

Re: dj upgrades
I checked out the woodlands and it's a big size room. If you are planning on using that entire room and not a section of it i would HIGHLY suggest getting a separate MC/DJ.
AS for the uplighting.. i think that's a personal choice. The room, imo is very beautiful.

the lighting isnt uplighting...just the basic lighting that the dj provides

I don't think that anything will seem 'missing' without lighting. It just depends on the feel you want. If you want to keep the charm of the place, then stick without the lighting. If you want that nightclub feel, add lighting.
I'm not planning on having lighting. I picked my hall because it has that same kind of classy feel. I don't want to change that.
When I go to weddings I don't really pay much attention to lights personally. i notice them when they're there, but don't miss them when they're not.

I agree that the lighting is a personal choice. But, depending on the amount of guests, I'd consider a second person. I'm having approximately 170 guests and want two people. Even though Phil could probably do the job by himself. I'm going to see him on Sunday!

How many guests are you having?
I am also using Phil; just having him. I am under a hundred guests and don't feel the need for 2. Besides which, IMHO, a more official MC is a bit cheezy and I don't particularly care for them.

I too, am using Phil.
2 man with uplighting. I'm pretty sure we're going to do basic, not the kind that pulses to the music or changes color.
No fancy bar lights over the dj set up though.
Knowing what a hughe difference the ing made at my sister's wedding, it was one thing I demanded.

Do you mind FMing me the price for the uplighting? Are you getting one color or color changing? I just want one constant color

Re: dj upgrades
I was told even by my BM at the RH that if you have a small wedding you only need the one guy. I have only 3 people in my BP. She said that if you have a large BP then it is worth getting two guys.

Those are about my numbers also, and I feel two people are better for that amount of guests. Just makes things run smoother, I think.
