dj vs band

Hi Ladies! I got married 3+ years ago and this site was a huge help. A relative is planning her wedding and is curious about band vs dj pricing. I cant even recall what we paid 3 years ago, plus i know pricing has changed.
if you dont mind, can you share with me the price for your band or dj. feel free to PM me if you prefer...no need to tell me who you booked with. they are just trying to get an idea for budgeting purposes and from there will determine if they want to contact Dj's or bands

Bands are usually $1,000 per band member.

dj vs band

From what I've seen DJ starts around 16-1800 for dj and mc and a band starts somewhere around 5K+.

ETA: We're also compromising by having a live percussionist with the dj and maybe a guitar player for cocktail. We'll see.

I'm paying 1400 for a DJ and an MC.. I added on a few things so my price is higher, but the 1400 was just for the basic dj/mc

I don't know DJs but the bands I've looked at range from $7,500 to $10,000.

Omg that's crazyyy!! My dad originally said he'd pay the difference because he prefers a band.. He changed his tune pretty quick lol.
