Hello All! I need some help finding a good DJ/band. Also, which are you going for? I met with EJ the DJ, the royalton suggested them... but so far that's it and I wanted to keep looking around. Who knows of good ones they can suggest to me... and if anyone has any price information?

I'm using a band. You first have to decide it you want to spend the money for a band or would rather have a DJ. You will probably not find a band under $7k

We used Paris and they are AMAZING!!! I highly recommend them!!
We paid slightly under $7k, but you probably won't find a band for less than $5800ish.. that was the lowest price that we were quoted.

i am using body rock and for 3000 we got dj/mc lighting package ch music and 2 50 inch plasmas which we get to keep all the pics they take from that night

Oh wow! The one DJ I met with was like 8000 for almost all the same things. By ch music.. you mean church music? Just wanted to clarify. Also, you mentioned you get to keep all the pics they take from the night.... so the DJ is taking pics and posting them on the plasma? I really liked that idea. Also, did they offer you a video montage or anything like that? And if they did offer a montage.. will they give you a DVD of it at the end?

We used a band, Soul Revival, they were fabulous. Both DH and I are big live music fans so we really never considered a DJ. What's great about them is they can work with any budget, we had a smaller wedding and were able to book there smaller band, and they rocked. FM me for more details. HTH www.soulrevivalband.com

we having both a band (a portuguese band) and a DJ. we are doing this because we are both portuguese and half of our wedding will be portuguese people and thought itd be a great idea to have an actual live portuguese band play the portuguese music as well. and the dj we got is STARLIGHT EXPRESS and i really highly recomend them! they are amazing and do a great job and you would not regret having them! we are also doing plasma screen tvs with pictures being taken the whole night and posted on the plasma screens and we get all the pictures in a cd. we got an amazing package with the 2 plasma screen tvs, photo montages, a photographer to take the pictures and we keep the cd, all these lights and moreee.. and the priceee was really good so id check them out!! :)

We are going with a band (Code Bleu), it's worth it for us even though it's a lot more money than a dj.

we went with LI Sound. we're getting: 1 DJ and 1 MC music for ceremony, CH and reception percussionist 2 50inch plasmas with cd of all zap shots perimeter room lighting (aka kinetic lights) $3500

price and preference will def effect your choice. bands cost way more and they sound different. som eof the older music i like performed by a band but i cant stand when i hear a band doing a beyonce song and some old man starts trying to rap like jay z...sounds very awkward to me.

we booked FM entertainment. I met with body rock and bravura and was turned off by both of them. I think I got a great deal from FM.
