Did you book an MC or just DJ alone? We are about to book the DJ within the next week and I am still torn! I really don't want an obnoxious guy on the dance floor...even though they all say they arent like that. The MC is a few hundred dollars more. I just want my wedding to be as good if I don't get the MC. What did you ladies choose?

we originally booked just the dj for the same reason your hesitant but then after several months i kept wondering if we should do it and after being at several weddings i realized that I liked the idea of having an mc so the dj is free to do music and the mc is in charge of announcements and what not. so i went back to my dj and added on the mc.

I booked a DJ only because I too am afraid of having an obnoxious MC. They all do say that their MC's aren't obnoxious, but I guess their definition of obnoxious and my defintion differs lol. I don't want anyone talking over songs and on the dance floor, that is JMO and my preference.
We booked DJ and MC - we met with our MC when we booked him and I think our personalities meshed and he knows what we want. I think you have to see how comfortable you are with the MC.
We got both, we felt like we wanted the extra 'boost'--especially with such a large crowd. We've seen videos of our MC, and I don't think he is going to be all over the place.
We booked a DJ and MC....but met with the MC and loved him. If we hadn't we def weren't going to book one because I did not want some man screaming at my guests obnoxiously.
we booked both an mc and a dj. i dont think the mc will be annoying i think he'll just move things along and it'll be fine. i guess it also depends on who ur mc is, lol. we saw our mc doing his thing and he seemed cool and not in the way of anything.

We booked both that way the DJ can focus on the music and the MC can keep the party going/make all the announcements etc. We are going to a showcase in the next month or two to see all the DJs/MCs in action then we can pick who we want (we'll have an MC that's personality fits with how we want our wedding).
I am having only the DJ
We're hopefully not having more than 110 people and really don't want any crowd participation dances, so we were recommended (and went with) the 1 man DJ/MC combo.
This was a major issue for us, I wanted DJ & MC, FH dis not want an MC, for the same reasons you are hesitant. Since our package came with DJ & MC, the owner said he could give us 2 DJ's. One of the DJ's is currently working as an MC for the company, but originally started out as a DJ. Talk to the owner of your DJ company and see if he can offer you something like this. Good luck!!!
