DJs

For all of you going with a DJ, I had a few questions... We met with a few and think that we have narrowed it down to two... one is 2095 for a five hour party (we are doing an extra hr) and an addl 500 for a sinatra singer...no lights, no nothing...just DJ and MC for 5 hours...

the other is 1750 for 2 DJS and an MC, again no lights, but the MC plays piano for cocktail hr and during dinner....

what does everyone think? I prefer the more expensive one, just seemed like he really knew what he was doing... but want to make sure we aren't getting ripped off...

Also, can yo negotiate on price with DJs or is it pretty standard and take it or leave it?

COnfetti cannons, 1 hour live musician(for coctail), percussionest, intellegent lighting, gobos, 6man crew dj, mc, light guy, live musician, percussion guy and 1 rodee. can't remember what else

You might want to check out Bravura. I hear they're excellent. They were a little out of my budget, but for a dj and mc AND lighting with cocktail hour included, I think they ran about $1900. A live singer would be extra on top of that obviously but I think it was about $200 (not positive). I'm having a 5 hour party also and they were willing to throw in the extra hour for free so they might be able to work with you as far as negotiating. If you need specific prices, FM me. I think if you really like the quality of the more expensive one than it's worth it to you to book with them. Music is one of the most important parts of your wedding day, so you really don't want to settle. I don't think you're paying an unreasonable price, so you're not getting ripped off. As for negotiating with DJs, I don't know if you can do that. You could give it a shot, but I'm pretty sure they're set on their packages. HTH!! GL!!!
